We can all pretty much agree that speed doesn't kill and the that posted limits generate more revenue than safety. While passing on the right is a bad idea, the left lane lounge is the scourge of modern society.

Passing aggressively on the right is also a bad idea. Especially if it's winter, you're on summer tires and have over 500hp.

Correct, but if the rest of the inconsiderate bastards on the road would actually follow the rules, it'd be a moot point.
Also, in this example, I'm not sure winter/summer tires are a factor given the roads appear to be uncontaminated.

Dude's going way faster than the limit and can't handle the car. Kinda brought it on himself.

Just playing devil's advocate here. Driving like an asshat in a car you obviously can't control is the root cause of this accident.
Sure, the guy in the left lane camping shouldn't have been there. But it was probably only a matter of time before the Lambo guy did something dumb anyway. And, the Lambo and Viper were going CONSIDERABLY faster than the flow of traffic. You want to go that fast, don't do it on a public road.

Assume (hypothetically) the other drivers were following the law and for arguments sake, this is the autobaun, would the Lambo have crashed?

I agree that Lambo/Viper bros are assholes, but not any worse assholes than the left lane lounges clogging the flow of traffic. In certain states and countries, there are unlimited speed limits and wide variations to the flow of traffic. If every driver participated correctly it wouldn't matter if there was at 60+ mph speed difference.

It would appear as though our Lambo driver had all of about three inches of space when he tried to get in front of a car in the left lane that was gaining, albeit at a slower speed than our speeding fancy cars, on the car in the right.
Not coincidentally, the person acting most irresponsibly on the road is also the only person whose car was damaged.

Because I'm bored and have nothing better to do I looked at this video more. Apparently it was on BC Highway 99, around exit ten. Speed limit is 100 KPH. So, in this instance I'm fairly certain they were exceeding the limit. By a lot.
But, you're still right. Stay out of the way and there's less likelihood this might have happened.

They don't have to be wet or have snow. Summer tires have a significant decrease in grip when it drops below 40 degrees. The rubber compound gets extremely hard compared to all seasons or winter tires.

If you look closely, the camera car and the SUV directly in front are overtaking the traffic in the right lane, obviously not fast enough for the bros. From the glimpse farther down the road when traffic splits as the lambo decides the road is for losers, it does appear that there is enough traffic in front of the three cars to make a case that they aren't necessarily lane hogging but passing only as fast as traffic allows. Without another angle all we can say for certain is the lambo is still an ass.

No, it shows why driving a Lambo like an idiot is bad.

Well, it's NOT the Autobahn. Even still, they would've tried going faster than everyone else.

as much as i agree about slow drivers in the passing lane (looking at you, grandpa), this is probably not the best video to demonstrate that point. if the lambo driver used his head, he would have just ended up being slightly frustrated about being stuck behind some slow drivers, instead of wrecked on the side of the road. inconsiderate drivers make other drivers frustrated and that frustration often leads to reckless driving on the part of the frustrated parties, ironically leading them to be even less considerate than the former. that having been said, it's all about responsibility and self-control. one has absolutely no excuse for losing their shit and crashing their car because they're frustrated.

Summer tires get hard below 40F.

I haven't researched any sources to back this up, but from my understanding of physics, a summer tire should warm to an acceptable temperature while driving at highway speeds regardless of the air temperature. I could agree that around town driving and stop-n-go traffic in snow roads, that a summer tire would never warm to a temp that allows for proper grip, but a sustained high speed on the highway should be ample time to warm the tires.

Headline should read, "Check your six for really bad Lambo drivers."
Have to disagree. Guy in left lane wasn't blocking traffic (and I'm no fan of moving roadblocks in the left lane, but I don't believe it's that guy). Lambo driver couldn't drive a nail through a slice of balsa wood. Wouldn't mind if he lost his license for that bonehead move.
